Last week, I listened to an interview with Cory Booker (Senator of New Jersey), on Pod Save America; I was completely inspired by the message Booker delivered. He spoke of the importance of leading with love and compassion. He gave examples in his own life where individuals from different backgrounds and geographical locations acted out of love and compassion to make a difference in their community and it indirectly affected Booker’s life and his path to ultimately becoming a U.S. Senator. My point being is that we all have opportunities in our lives to act with compassion to bring about change and make a difference.

One of my main goals with Ruhk is to support organizations in Nepal that provide trainings in agriculture so that communities can alleviate the pressures of food insecurity. Through these trainings families can improve their household nutrition and generate income for their families. A large component of Ruhk is donating back the profits from the powder sold to these organizations that are doing amazing work combating food insecurity.

I am beyond excited to announce that because of all the amazing people that supported Ruhk by buying Moringa powder, I can make a donation to Everything Organic Nursery in Nepal to support their SPARKS Initiative. This program will offer fruit and nut tree production trainings to multiple communities in Nepal. These comprehensive trainings teach local farmers how to grow, produce, harvest, and market these trees and products. This is a great opportunity for these families and communities to improve their livelihood. For more information about the program or if you are interested in making a donation yourself, check them out at https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-sparks-project-by-everything-organic-nursery#/

I am so incredible grateful for all the support I have received from family, friends, and strangers. I am so thankful for the opportunity to continue to work in the nutrition and public health field to improve food insecurity, an area that I am passionate about. I hope everyone has the opportunity to find something they are passionate about and go after it with full force.
